Here is a list of F&WHR Events that will be taking place during 2024.
For now, this is just an outline plan – further details will be posted as and when they are finalised.
4th-5th May – FR: ‘FRIENDS OF THE FFESTINIOG’
(Extra activities for Ffestiniog Railway Society members over the weekend of their AGM. )
11th May – WHR / External: CAERNARFON FOOD FAIR
(A good excuse for a weekend in Caernarfon. Food and craft stalls around the town.)
18th-19th May (tbc) – FR: MODEL RAILWAY WORKSHOP
(A selection of small layouts of different gauges and some model making demonstrations to whet your appetite or help you with your own modelling plans.)
7th-8th June – WHR: ‘RAIL-ALE FESTIVAL’
(This popular event, based at Dinas near Caernarfon, returns once again with a large selection of real ales and ciders. Live music and food vendors on site.)
14th-15th September – WHR: SUPER-POWER WEEKEND’
(An exciting weekend as Super Power returns with an intensive timetable including some heavy freight as we celebrate the successful restoration of the NG15 locomotive as it joins the NG/G16s)
21st September – F&WHR: THE SNOWDONIAN 2
28th September – FR / External: ‘TRAILFFEST’
(Half trail marathon chasing the train from Tanygrisiau to Porthmadog, raising funds for local charities.)
4th-6th October – FR: ‘BYGONES WEEKEND’
(This end of the season flagship event celebrates the best of Ffestiniog with heritage carriages, gravity trains, unusual stock formations and much more. Always a great atmosphere. A must for your calendar.)
