The Snowdonian offers an 80 mile round trip over the whole railway with a variety of motive power.
The Snowdonian will run on April 20th 2024. There will also be organised tours of Boston Lodge on the Friday evening to see the NLHF funded building works at Boston Lodge as they near completion..
Friday April 19th. 2024
Optional works tours with a shuttle service from Porthmadog to Boston Lodge where participants will be met by the guides (NB: Only open to those with Snowdonian train tickets). It is important to note that because Boston Lodge is now a building site, it is not possible to accommodate anyone with mobility issues or walking aids, or wheelchair this year. We do apologise but the ground is not suitable.
Optional Spooners evening meal with set menu. There will be two sittings at 17:30 and 19:30. This must be pre-booked.
Saturday April 20th 2024 – The Snowdonian
- Route: Porthmadog – Blaenau Ffestiniog – Caernarfon – Porthmadog. Depart at around 8.45 am and returning around 7 pm.
- Steam locomotives: To be confirmed. Newly-built Double Fairlie James Spooner will be amongst the motive power for the Porthmadog – Caernarfon – Porthmadog leg of the journey.
- A light Breakfast, Lunch at Waunfawr and on train Tea and Cakes.
- Spooner’s will be open from 0700 for light breakfast which may be taken in the café or on the train.
