Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway steams into Shrewsbury
The  Shrewsbury Flower Show – claimed to be the world’s longest-running flower show - takes place on the 11th & 12th August this year and joining in the celebrations will be a steam locomotive nearly as old.

Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways secures National Lottery support
Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways has received a development grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) under its Skills for the Future programme for the Heritage Trainees project. The project aims to share the rich vein of railway heritage skills with a wider community.

Palmerston to visit Liverpool Albert Dock in May for “Steam on the Dock 2017”
153 years ago, in a remote corner of North Wales, one of the world's earliest narrow gauge steam locomotives arrived at the Ffestiniog Railway in Porthmadog. Now that locomotive, Palmerston, is to visit Albert Dock Liverpool for their “Steam on the Dock” event, which takes place on Saturday May 6th and Sunday May 7th.

New Book Available Now: "Fairlie Locomotives of North Wales"
This book describes the history and career in service of each of the eight Fairlies, single and double, built for service on the Ffestiniog and the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways in Victorian and Edwardian days.

Quirks & Curiosities II - Tickets & Timetables now available!
We are already well underway with planning for our biggest event of 2017 – Quirks & Curiosities II. Following the success of the last Quirks in 2010 the Railway has received numerous requests to stage the sequel and we are hoping to make it bigger, better and quirkier than before!

The Legends of Wales with Visit Wales
Wales is a land of legend, myth and folklore with our fire breathing Red Dragon standing guard. Yet, tucked away in the beautiful scenery of Snowdonia are the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways’ very own legends - the steam breathing engines.

Visit of The Right Honourable Alun Cairns MP, Secretary of State for Wales, to King’s Cross
