Ffestiniog goes standard gauge!
This week saw a notable first for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways' Boston Lodge works - the arrival of its first standard gauge restoration project, London Transport Museum's unique Metropolitan Railway first class carriage number 353.

Our Heritage Journey: Heritage Lottery Fund Bid

Fourth Lord arrives on the FR
Ex-Penrhyn Quarry Hunslet Hugh Napier's boiler was unloaded at Minffordd on Tuesday July 12. The rest of the loco will arrive in the next few days in a deal which will see the 107 year-old, owned by the National Trust, returned to steam by engineers at Boston Lodge Works.

F&WHR enhances Summer timetable
Due to the popularity of services covering the new section of the Welsh Highland Railway opened in April, F&WHR management have evaluated options for enhancing the Summer timetable to offer more opportunities for return journeys over the whole line from both Caernarfon and Porthmadog.
