‘Y Cerdyn’ Sales Suspended T&Cs
Due to the financial difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are regrettably suspending ‘Y Cerdyn’ sales for the time being.
All current holders of ‘Y Cerdyn’ will be unable to use the discounts when booking train journeys and will therefore receive a 6-month extension to their scheme as a result of this decision.
Please note that all current holders of the ‘Y Cerdyn’ can still use the card for discounts in our catering outlets.
Thanks for your understanding.

For local residents, we offer a special loyalty card, Y Cerdyn, offering significantly reduced fares on all journeys – making a trip to Waunfawr for lunch, Beddgelert for an ice cream or Blaenau Ffestiniog to the soft play centre an affordable day out.
Our two railways run through some of the most beautiful parts of the National Park with ever changing scenery as the trains pass though villages, woodland and mountains from the slate quarries at Blaenau Ffestiniog, down to the coast at Porthmadog then over the lower slopes of Snowdon and down to Caernarfon beside the castle. Many of our stations serve local villages with pubs and cafes, walks and attractions.
Our loyalty card also gives access to any special offers that may be available in the shops and cafes out of season. Costing only £20.00 for three years, a regular newsletter will tell you about the latest offers and discounts.
Many of our events are held out of the main season to help entice people to the area but also to provide entertainment for those who live locally. Santa trains run in December from both Caernarfon and Porthmadog. The Beer festival, Cwrw ar y Cledrau, held annually at Dinas station just outside Caernarfon, is a popular date in the local diary whilst the Victorian weekend in October sees the car park in Porthmadog station filled with local stallholders – all dressed for the occasion.
We also help out with local events such as Race the Train each July at Caernarfon and Ras y Cob fun runs at Porthmadog in September. The annual charity trail half marathon, Trailffest, attracts local runners from far and wide of all abilities with family and friends cheering from the train.
There are so many ways of using the railways as part of a walk, a family treat or a simple afternoon picnic and trains run on selected dates right up until New Year.
