Check out our new video offerings on FRTV

As 25,000 tons of rock from Minffordd Quarry is brought to Harbour Station to widen the Cob prior to the major re-modelling of the station, we have set up a camera to monitor progress.

Each day is compressed into a couple of minutes to enable you to see the work progressing. Updates are posted at the end of each day and on Monday morning for weekend work.

Check it out by clicking on the FRTV button on the home page or by clicking here.

Two more conventional video reports on progress can be seen here and here.

See the Welsh Highland as never before!
The F&WHR has also teamed up with 360 degree video specialists Spherevision to produce a breathtaking ride along the Welsh Highland from Porthmadog to Caernarfon.

This unique footage plays on any home computer and enables the viewer to look left, right, up and down simply by dragging the mouse. Images can be viewed in a window or full screen and can also be zoomed.

Filmed over two glorious days last summer, the clips feature views from Beyer Garratt 138 - from outside the loco and inside the cab, from on-board the train and from the lineside.

A DVD set is scheduled for delivery early in the New Year which runs for 25 minutes and is accompanied by another disc covering the journey in 'normal' format, with accompanying voiceover for viewing on a TV.

Click here to view the clips and register to be notified when the DVD is available.

Enjoy your trip…
