Arriva Trains Wales' pilot 12 month free-travel scheme for concessionary pass holders in Gwynedd and Conwy, on the Conwy Valley Line (Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog), runs up to May 20 - an opportunity not to be missed. Travel from Llandudno to Blaenau and then travel the FR!
...Special guest loco 'Jerry M' (who's with the FR for the whole of May) will also be joining us on the 17th to mark the ACORP event.
We will use 'Jerry M' to haul special shuttle trains to Tan y Grisiau and back, when the service trains arrive at Blaenau. Priced just two pounds.
*The British Transport Police, 'Llechwedd Slate Caverns' and members of the 'Green Town Project' have also confirmed stands for the 17th.
* Arriva Trains Wales is waiting for confirmation from the Welsh Assembly Government as to whether the free-travel scheme on the Conwy Valley Line will be extended.
Events on May 17th form part of the FR's 'May is the Month' schedule, which includes a host of events and activities across the FR and Welsh Highland Railway (Caernarfon).
