Fourth Lord arrives on the FR
Ex-Penrhyn Quarry Hunslet Hugh Napier's boiler was unloaded at Minffordd on Tuesday July 12. The rest of the loco will arrive in the next few days in a deal which will see the 107 year-old, owned by the National Trust, returned to steam by engineers at Boston Lodge Works.

F&WHR enhances Summer timetable
Due to the popularity of services covering the new section of the Welsh Highland Railway opened in April, F&WHR management have evaluated options for enhancing the Summer timetable to offer more opportunities for return journeys over the whole line from both Caernarfon and Porthmadog.

Porthmadog Triathlon - September 4th 2011

The Porthmadog Triathlon has been organised to help celebrate the 200th anniversary of the construction of "Y Cob" by William Madocs,the founder of the town. The occasion will be very special as this is the first triathlon to be held in the Town.

FR on TV: Coast this Sunday...
The BBC Coast team visited the FR over two days last summer and the end result is being screened on BBC2 and the BBC HD Channel this Sunday evening (July 10) at 2100. Coast usually attracts between four and five million viewers each week.

A new coat of paint for Blanche

Blanche is currently receiving a long-overdue repaint at Boston Lodge Works. Soon she'll emerge resplendent in a new coat of the Ffestiniog Railway green that she's carried for many years.

Cutting work-related accidents at level crossings in North Wales was the aim of a health and safety experts gathering in Porthmadog on June 8-9 attended by more than 100 delegates.
