May 1st - 4th : Ffestiniog Railway "150 Years Of
Back in 1865, the first passenger services were introduced with quarrymen travelling to work in tiny four wheeled carriages. Victorian holidaymakers soon followed and the company responded with some beautiful carriages to convey them. Many of these carriages have been lovingly restored and the early years of the railway will be celebrated on this special gala weekend. There will be many additional trains to enjoy as well as the service trains shown below. More information here.

Steam locomotives are used throughout the year and the smoke from these engines adds to the heritage ambience of this historic railway. Please take care when close to the locomotives, especially when trains are leaving the stations. The Festiniog Railway Company will not be held liable for any soiling of, or damage to, clothing or any other property.
