The
RHEILFFORDD ERYRI /
WELSH HIGHLAND
RAILWAY (CAERNARFON)
is Snowdonia’s
newest railway.
Trains currently run
on a 12-mile journey
from our main
station in
Caernarfon,
overlooked by the
magnificent castle,
to the village of
Rhyd Ddu nestling
650 feet above sea
level on the slopes
of Snowdon. This is
the halfway stage of
this exciting
project – work is in
full swing on the
remaining section to
Porthmadog.

from sea level into
the mountains
through tranquil
pastures and
magnificent forests,
past lakes and

horseshoe bends
(even a complete

the side of the
mountain or even

it.
