Opening through Aberglaslyn Pass
Following the successful extension of the Welsh Highland Railway to Beddgelert at Easter this year, a further extension through the Aberglaslyn Pass will open to the public from Friday 22 May 2009.

This new journey will provide the perfect opportunity to experience the scenic delights of a ride through the spectacular Aberglaslyn Pass, recently voted ‘Best View in Britain’.

The line leaves Beddgelert and heads towards and across the River Glaslyn. Trains run beside, then high above the fast flowing river and as the valley narrows, plunge into a tunnel through the hillside. Emerging on the far side, the line descends past Nantmor village to reach the temporary loop at Hafod y Llyn from where the train will return to Beddgelert.

During the Spring Bank Holiday week we are running an early morning train from Dinas to Beddgelert, allowing you to make the most of your day on and around the railway.

On Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th May an optional Bangers ‘n’ Mash meal is available for all the family aboard our evening trains. This train leaves Caernarfon at 19:00 and food must be pre-ordered.
