Enjoy the golden spectacle of a Snowdonia Autumn on a round trip either from Porthmadog or Beddgelert. Trains run every Saturday and Sunday from November 5th to December 4th and light refreshments are available on all services.

Trains leave Porthmadog at 1100 and 1415 and Beddgelert at 1230.

And why not make a day of it with lunch in Spooner's award-winning restaurant and pub either before or after your trip? Purchase a £5.25 meal at the same time as your ticket and get a free tea, coffee or a soft drink either on the train or in Spooner’s.

On Saturdays, choose between Beef Hotpot in a Yorkshire Pudding or Fish, Chips & Peas and on Sundays there's a choice of two Sunday roasts and the chance to go large for an additional £2.50.

Lunch is served between 1200 and 1430. Phone the booking office on 01766 516024 to make your reservation.

Fares for these trips are as follows:

Adult (Third Class) - £17.50
Concession - £15.75
(First class supplement - £5.00 one-way or £10.00 return per seat).

The Glaslyn Osprey Centre Winter Opening

The ospreys may have flown but there is no shortage of wildlife at the site next to Pont Croesor station.  Up to 100 Whooper swans can be seen feeding in the nearby fields and there many other species to spot too. There is a small range of gifts for sale or how about RSPB membership as a Christmas present?

The centre is open 1000 – 1600 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout November and early December, then daily from 16th to 23rd December for ‘Mince Pies and nature’ week.

There is a large car park and entrance is free.

There are several attractions in the area open throughout the winter, making it an ideal place to take a short break and perhaps do a bit of sight seeing or walking as well as some Christmas shopping.
