MEP in fact-finding visit to Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways
Jill Evans, Plaid Cymru MEP for Wales, visited the Welsh Highland Railway on April 5, 2011. Jill travelled from Porthmadog to Rhyd Ddu and discussed the vital role the railway plays in supporting the local economy with General Manager Paul Lewin.

"I was impressed both with the first class service the railway provides and the multi-million pound contribution it makes to the Gwynedd economy every year," commented the MEP. "Not only does it highlight the value to Wales of attracting tourism, but it is a testament to the dedication of the thousands of volunteers who have given their time to rebuild this wonderful railway."
