The Snowdonian rides again...
Last year's Snowdonian 80 mile round trip over the full length of the F&WHR was so successful that we're doing it all again. And, as last year, all the profits go to the Ffestiniog Railway and the Festiniog Railway Trust, to be put towards the Sustainable Railway Phase 5 Appeal. Last year around £25,000 was raised.

The date for your diary for this year's Snowdonian is April 14th 2012.

On Offer is an 80 mile 2ft gauge round trip in a private train, with observation cars at both ends. Porthmadog - Blaenau Ffestiniog - Caernarfon - Porthmadog. Motive power will be Linda and Blanche on the FR and Double Fairlies on the WHR.

Bacon baps will be served on departure from Porthmadog, buffet lunch at Beddgelert, tea and scones on departure from Caernarfon. Hot and cold beverages and snacks available from buffet car throughout the journey.

An open-topped bus will run alongside the train for photographers and there will be a photo runpast at Ffrid Isaf on the return journey.

Scheduled departure from Porthmadog is at 0845.

Also being planned is an evening event on Friday: a trip round Boston Lodge Works, with diesel train connection from Harbour Station, and an invitation to Spooner's for refreshment when you return.

Tickets for the 2012 Snowdonian are priced at £150 and bookings are now being taken. For more information and to make a booking, click here
