130 Years Celebration
On Wednesday 22 July 2009 the Conwy Valley Railway line between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog will celebrate 130 years of service to the community. This milestone will be commemorated with a small celebration at Dolwyddelan Railway Station at 11.15am on that day.


Welcome and brief explanation/history with VIP invited to open the ceremony

Blessing of the line (in English)

VIP and Carnival Queen Megan Lloyd to unveil the commemorative plaque on the station

Cllr Elizabeth Roberts introduces the presentation of certificates to six members of “Cylch yr Ifanc” (a group of station adopters) by Conwy Voluntary Services Council

Ben Davies of Arriva Trains Wales presents a replica nameplate of “Peter V L Jones” to Colin Cartwright, Betws-y-coed Railway Museum and flowers to the Carnival Queen

Closure with blessing (in Welsh) and invitation to tea and walkabout to view the work of the station adopters and stalls from local groups

Two special postcards have been produced for the event. These will be handed out as souvenirs to attendees.
