The art project VIA presents 5 multimedia works by artists from UK, Ireland, Serbia and Croatia. VIA is a creative international exchange project that arises from mutual interests in artists life stories, cultures and life experiences in each other’s European countries.
All of the five artists first met at the Venice Biennale and are drawn together by their connection with Venice. The artists have all lived, studied and also worked as invigilators for differing exhibitions at the Biennale at some
point during the past six years.
The artists involved in this project each reside on the periphery of Europe; countries with a history of borders and colonialism, and countries which have experienced contestation in the performance of national identity.
'Cellb’ is a Centre for music, design & culture and training for media and the arts located in the former police station and magistrates court in the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd.
The exhibition opens on May 27th from 7pm - 11pm, and continues until May 30th. Food and drink is available at the venue.
