New footbridge for Tan y Bwlch

The bridge, constructed by craftsmen at the railway's Boston Lodge works, was delivered by rail to the station at the end of March. As the bridge is at the very limit of the Ffestiniog's tight loading gauge, the journey was undertaken on a day with no public services to avoid the chance of delays.

The bridge supports were erected and a large mobile crane lifted the deck into position on Monday May 14th after the last service train had passed. The existing footbridge giving access to the platform will remain in place for the time being.
