Prince & Palmerston head 150th anniversary train
Veteran steam locos Prince and Palmerston, together representing 300 years of steam history, headed the 1015 and 1335 service trains on Sunday August 4th - the 150th anniversary of Princess' first steaming in 1863.

75 years ago, on July 3rd, 1938, A4 Pacific Mallard became the holder of the world speed record for steam locomotives, attaining a speed of 126.88 mph.

Welsh Pony to steam again
The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway has been given the go-ahead forWelsh Pony's restoration to traffic by the Company's Board and a comprehensive restoration management plan has been drawn up in conjunction with the FR Heritage Company.

Princess on display in Dublin from June 6th
In 1863 the Ffestiniog Railway began the use of steam locomotives built in London by George England, to haul trains of empty slate wagons from the harbour at Porthmadog to the quarries of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

A King replaces Princess in Porthmadog
A diminutive steam engine which last worked at the Dinorwic Slate Quarry near Llanberis in North Wales is to be put on display at the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway's Porthmadog Harbour Station.

Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway Steam 150 UK Tour continues
The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway's oldest working steam locomotive celebrates its 150th birthday this year. To mark the event, Prince – built in London in 1863 – is returning to the city for the first time to give cab rides at London Transport Museum's Acton Depot open day this weekend.
